Gifts of Securities: Recent changes to the Income Tax Act have eliminated Capital Gains on appreciated securities that are donated to a registered charity such as TTLT. For some donors this offers the means to make a substantial donation while enjoying considerable tax savings. The Thames Talbot Land Trust has established an Opportunities Fund, which receives planned gifts, memorial gifts and other donations for the purpose of securing conservation lands in the Thames Talbot region.
