Leave a Legacy through the Thames Talbot Land Trust

-

An ever-increasing number of Canadians are planning to leave legacy gifts to their favorite charities. The most popular form of Planned Gift is a bequest in a will, although there are a number of other opportunities you may want to explore with your financial planner.

-Few things are as enduring as land, and a Planned Gift through the Thames Talbot Land Trust will help us to protect natural lands in perpetuity providing a legacy of healthy landscapes for future generations. The Thames Talbot Land Trust has established an Opportunities Fund, which receives planned gifts, memorial gifts and other donations for the purpose of securing conservation lands in the Thames Talbot region.

The Thames Talbot Land Trust is a registered Canadian charity governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from your community. As a member of the Ontario Land Trust Alliance, we adhere to a rigorous set of Standards and Practices that will ensure the lasting value of your gift.

If you are considering making a gift of land to the Trust, please contact us to discuss your aspirations for the property so that we may work together to realize your conservation goals. The Trust may be unable to accept a gift of land arriving unannounced.

Gifts of Securities: Recent changes to the Income Tax Act have eliminated Capital Gains on appreciated securities that are donated to a registered charity such as TTLT. For some donors this offers the means to make a substantial donation while enjoying considerable tax savings. We can provide more details but you will want to consult your own financial or tax advisor to structure the gift for full advantage.
